Hey guys! We have a major update this time, alongside the usual tweaks!

Starting with the big news - we now have bosses! 4 in total, each showing up every 5 wave and combining traits of the enemies spawned. There's still a long way to go but I'm quite happy with what I have so far. 

Other changes include dynamical spawn-time determined by the type of enemy and progress of the game, multiple enemies spawning during the late-game and tweaks to power-ups and HUD elements.


Changelog:

  • GAMEPLAY
    • Bosses!
      • Every 5 waves a boss will spawn
      • Enemy spawning is paused while bosses are active
      • Boss 1 moves left/right and shoots down
      • Boss 2 moves in a square, moving from corner to corner, shooting at the player, also shooting drones at the player
      • Boss 3 moves around in the screen and shoots bullets at the player and laser to the direction facing
      • Boss 4 moves around the screen and scatters bullets
    • New Spawner
      • Enemies increment during a wave and then resets. Spawn wait gradually decreases like before
      • Enemies spawned per spawncall increases every time a boss is defeated
    • Power-Ups:
      • Merge Homing and Firepower so that there is still reason to keep collecting firepower upgrades
      • Health becomes rarer with every level
      • Firepower becomes rare after reaching full-power
      • Pulse is only dropped by bosses
      • Pulse destroys enemies, but only damages bosses
    • Shield System
      • Player shoots missiles first and then unlocks weaker-faster bullets with power-ups (Feels too clunky)
      • Some enemies will spawn with shields, requiring an extra hit to destroy
  • AUDIO
    • Player impact sounds made louder
  • VISUAL
    • Fixed a bug for HUD Effect playing too fast
    • Health bar decreases in chunks for laser damage
